Nigeria women national team defender, Onome Ebi has disclosed that Asisat Oshoala's success will propel the Super Falcons towards a brilliant outing at the 2015 Fifa Women's World Cup in Canada.
Oshoala, was named the Africa’s best following her incredible exploits for country and club side during the Glo/Caf award gala held at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre in Lagos on Thursday.
The Minsk of Belarus defender, whose side won the Belarusian Women League and Super Cup title last season said she knew Oshoala would win following her sensational exploits last year.
"I'm very happy and very delighted. I know she was going to win. I believe in her," Ebi told Goal.
"Everybody believes in what she is doing. We only waited for them to announce it since we knew she was going to take it. We thank God for everything.
"This is going to motivate our players. It is going to boost their moral to go further and do more. We know if we can be African champions and also produce the best player in Africa, we can do well at the World Cup.
Ebi, who was part of the 2014 African Women Championship said early preparation and quality friendly matches will boost the Super Falcons' successful outing in Canada.
"I think we deserve more. I believe going to the World Cup, we are going to surprise many people," she said.
"I just want to urge the NFF not to look down on our preparations; they should come out with clear programme. We don't just want to go the World Cup as mere participant but want to come back home with something.
"I think with the availability of international friendly games in Africa and outside the continent. We even have qualifiers in March and other tournaments ahead too.
"So we just need early preparation, camping and hope we resume camp anytime soon.
"We are still waiting and praying for God to answer our prayers and let the president call us soon and give us what ever he has for us. We hope it will come to past some day," she concluded.
