According to the report, the Nigerian embassy in Saudi Arabia this week side-stepped protocol by giving preference to former Vice President Namadi Sambo and his entourage of 15 family members over that of President Buhari when both arrived for the lesser Hajj (Umrah) in Saudi Arabia.

Pro-Dogara group in the House of Reps say they
will never accept Hon Femi Gbajabiamila as the House Majority Leader. In
a statement signed by Abdulmumini Jibrin representing Kano state, the
group said true federal character as stated in the Nigerian constitution
for the appointment of key positions in the National assembly must be
enforced.
The group argue that the North East and the South West cannot
produce any principal officer again after Hon Dogara from Bauchi state
in the North East and Yusuf Lasun from Osun state in the South West
already occupy key positions as Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.
The group has however offered to give the Gbajabiamila
faction the opportunity to produce the next Majority leader but says
that Femi Gbajabiamila himself cannot occupy the position. This has
however been refused by the Gbajabiamila led faction who have said their
position to ensure that Femi Gbajabiamila is made Majority Leader is
non negotiable

NUT president - 37 teachers died in Kaduna bomb blast
The National President of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Micheal Olukoya, says that 37 teachers died in the bomb incident that rocked Sabongari in Kaduna state yesterday July 7th. The teachers were at the state secretariat to partake in the verification exercise initiated by the government to weed off ghost workers.
While speaking at the Founders day of the Nigerian Union of Teachers in Abuja today July 8th, Mr Olukoya said so far, 272 teachers had lost their lives to the various Boko Haram attacks in Borno State alone and that over 19,000 had been displaced in the North East.
