Lucas Silva to Real Madrid is a done deal, says Cruzeiro vice president

Marcio Rodrigues says an official statement on the transfer is imminent after the player decided he wanted to accept the offer from the European champions

Lucas Silva's transfer to Real Madrid has been agreed and will be announced imminently, according to Cruzeiro's vice president.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have long been pursuing a deal for the young midfielder, with Asier Illarramendi expected to be allowed the chance to leave the club once the Brazilian arrives at Santiago Bernabeu.

Cruzeiro official Marcio Rodrigues has since confirmed the 21-year-old has accepted the offer from the European champions - thought to include a six-and-a-half-year contract - and is expecting the deal to be made official soon.

"Lucas Silva's transfer deal is official and a statement will be made on Thursday," he told ESPN Brazil. "The player has decided it's time for him to leave.

"We won't have any problem finding a replacement. Various reserve team players are ready to step up."

Lucas Silva has played an integral role in Cruzeiro's back-to-back Brasileirao successes in the past two seasons.
