Soccer Awards recognised Real Madrid's exceptional year. During the
ceremony, which took place in the Atlantis, The Palm hotel in Dubai, the
Whites received seven gongs. As a result of being crowned European and
world champions, they were bestowed with the best team of the year
award. Florentino Pérez was in charge of collecting the accolade. The
Whites' chief director also picked up the best president of 2014 award.
The Real Madrid president dedicated part of his speech to Alfredo Di Stéfano, who was remembered during the ceremony: “He was not only the world's greatest player, but he also changed the history of football and of our club. He set out the path for us and will eternally live on with us.”

On top of that, Cristiano Ronaldo collected the best player of 2014 and
the fans favourite awards. “It has been a fantastic year. Winning the Décima was
really special. I dedicate these awards to my team-mates, the coach and
the president”, the Portuguese star stated. Meanwhile, Ancelotti also
picked up two awards: best coach and best media attraction. “I am at a
great club, with great players and great fans. That makes it easy to win
awards”, declared the coach.
And to conclude the ceremony in which Real Madrid took centre stage, one of the summer signings, James Rodríguez was selected as player revelation of 2014. “Coming to Real Madrid has been a wonderful experience and I hope to win everything with this team, which is without a doubt the greatest”, he said.
